The ongoing COVID 19 pandemic has affected society and our daily lives at every level. Since early this year we’ve been watching developments closely to see if there was any way in which we could go ahead with the Longford Marathon as an in-person event at the end of August this year.

Regrettably, the ongoing restrictions and the uncertainty in relation to the planned easing of restrictions in Ireland have lead us to conclude that the only safe decision we can make at this time is to cancel the event again this year.

We are organising a 2021 Virtual Abbott Longford Marathon, details of which will be published shortly.

If you have a pending entry from 2020 you can either use it to take part in our virtual event this year, or alternatively you can defer your entry to our 2022 event.
